Alain Vizier joined SUA, AV in 2003. Prior to joining SUA, Vizier taught as an Associate Professor in Humanities at the University of Puerto Rico, an Assistant Professor at Tulane University, a Teaching Assistant and Lecturer at the Johns Hopkins University, and a Professor at the French Institute of Latin America (Institut Français d'Amérique Latine) in Mexico City, where he also worked for the Foreign Service (French Government) as Attaché aux Services du Conseiller Culturel.
Vizier received his Licence d'enseignement de Philosophie (Philosophy Degree), Licence en Droit (Law Degree), Masters Degree and Diploma of Advanced Studies (D.E.A.) in Philosophy at the University of Paris-X, France. He holds a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University, and was the recipient of several doctoral and research fellowships.
His scholarly publications include: a critical edition of Grenaille; essays on Artaud and Foucault; articles on Senault, Fénelon, Pascal and Descartes published in MLN, French Forum, Cahiers du Dix-Septième, Revista de Filosofía.
