Juliana Essen joined the Writing Center Staff at Soka University, Aliso Viejo in January 2003.  With a PhD in cultural anthropology (University of Minnesota 2002), Essen specializes in writing for the Social Sciences.  In addition to her work in the Writing Center, Essen teaches Advanced Communication Skills and gives guest lectures on Development, Buddhism, and Southeast Asia when the need and interest arises.
