Professor Arie Galles
Galles' drawings and Reflected Light Paintings, have been exhibited nationally, including solo shows at the O.K. Harris Gallery, NYC, and the Zolla Lieberman Gallery, Chicago. Group shows include the Steinbaum-Krauss Gallery, NYC, NJ State Museum, Trenton. NJ, Elvehjem Museum of Art, Madison, WI, Mississippi Museum of Art, Jacksonville, MI, Indianapolis Museum of Art, IN, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. His works are in public and private collections in the US and abroad.
Arie has just completed his monumental suite of large charcoal drawings, "Fourteen Stations/Hey Yud Dalet," based on World War II aerial photographs of 14 concentration camps from Luftwaffe and Allied sources. The suite was subsequently exhibited at a number of Museums and Galleries. The next show will be mounted at the Founders Gallery at Soka University of America from February 16 through April 28, 2006.
