Arnold Kawasaki joined Soka University of America in December of 1995 as Associate Vice President of Administration.  His primary responsibilities were to institute the master plan for the expansion of the Calabasas campus and to direct the design and the physical construction of the Aliso Viejo campus.  In May of 1996, Kawasaki was promoted to the position of Vice President of Administration.  He served as Assistant Secretary to the SUA Board of Trustees from 1996 to 2000 and as Secretary from 2001 to 2003.  He supervised the Office of Enrollment Services at the Aliso Viejo campus from July of 2002 through February of 2004.  He currently serves as Assistant to the President.

Kawasaki worked at the accounting firm, Ernst & Whinny, as an Electronic Data Processing consultant in New York from 1984 through 1986.  He was employed as the Director of Administration at the Soka Gakkai International - USA Headquarters in Santa Monica from 1988 to 1995.

Kawasaki holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Economics from Soka University of Japan. He also earned another M.A. degree in Statistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association from 1997 to 2003.

Kawasaki resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Mizin, and his children, Lee and Megan.
