Students learn to integrate complex and diverse historical narratives with the study of national, regional, and global issues, and are expected to gain a critical knowledge of the global system through courses spanning a range of disciplines. International Studies places particular emphasis on the acquisition of analytical skills in such areas as: international relations, security and conflict resolution, human rights, media and communications, transnational migration, economic development and international trade, and the role of international and regional organizations.
