Other General Education ElectivesSoka University of America offers a Leadership and a Distinguished Topics elective course as part of the General Education curriculum.
The Leadership course is designed to emphasize ethical leadership, personal responsibility, and community service. While taking this course, students will be engaged in various on-campus orientation activities, including trust building, goal setting, time management, team building, communication, and group process, that utilize their leadership role as an Student Orientation Leader.
The Distinguished Topics courses are offered when Soka University of America will occasionally host a distinguished visiting scholar for a brief or extended period of time. He or she may choose to offer a course, based on his or her expertise/experience/interest, to Soka University of America students at a particular level for a particular number of credits. Enrollment may be selective and may require an application process.
