Duration:
  • Spring Semester  (Early January - Late April)

  • Fall Semester  (Early September- Mid December)

Overview:

  • Spain's third largest city, Valencia, is located on the Mediterranean coast approximately 200 miles south of Barcelona. Although Valencia has a rich history, it is often referred to as one of Spain's more modern cities. The port city of Valencia is on Spain’s southeastern Orange Blossom Coast, where the Turia River meets the Mediterranean Sea. Known as the City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia has futuristic structures including a planetarium, an oceanarium and an interactive museum.

Requirements:

  • Cumulative GPA-  3.0
Academics:
  • Soka students between 12-15 credits.

  • Soka students are required to take the  “Hispanic Studies Program”.
  • The program offers many content courses for higher Intermediate/Advanced students designed for international students.

  • All the courses are taught by host university faculty.

  • Program participants will be in class with other ISA students.
Field Trips:
  • 4-5 field trips (including a 2-3 day orientation in Madrid)

  • Volunteer activities are available working with homeless children, local animal shelters and more.

Housing:
  • Homestay where students typically share a bedroom with another ISA student.

  • Host family usually has Wi-Fi access at home.

  • Host family is located close to university (students commute by bicycle).
