Open Rank, Tenure Track Position in Environmental Planning and Practice

Soka University of America (SUA) seeks to fill an open rank, tenure track faculty position in Environmental Planning and Practice.  Potential areas of teaching and specialty for this position may include environmental planning, environmental sustainability, renewable energy, natural resource management, environmental impact assessment and analysis, environmental dispute resolution, endangered species policy, and other environmental courses that complement existing areas of teaching in the SUA Environmental Studies curriculum. Individuals with government, NGO’s, or industry experiences are encouraged to apply.  All faculty members are also expected to teach one or more courses in the interdisciplinary general studies program.

The applicant must demonstrate the ability to develop a productive program of research and scholarship involving students. This is a full time, open rank position, beginning in August, 2013.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in an appropriate area, yet be versatile enough to teach outside their area of specialization, and have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research. Applicants with experience beyond academia are encouraged to apply.
