Part-Time Instructor in Geographic Information Systems

Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, California invites applications to fill a part-time adjunct instructor position in Geographic Information Systems in the Environmental Studies Concentration to teach one course (Introduction to Geographic Information Systems – GEOG 350) starting September 2019.

Course Description:

Introduction to Geographic Information Systems – GEOG 350

This course provides a foundation in geospatial analysis and ArcGIS Pro and guides students through exercises in Gorr and Kurland’s ‘GIS Tutorial 1 for ArcGIS Pro: A Platform Workbook’ to prepare them for the Advanced GIS (GEOG 400) course. The course meets two times a week (Tuesday and Thursday) at 3:00PM – 5:00PM (one hour of lecture followed by one hour of lab).

Applicants should be enthusiastic about teaching GIS to undergraduates, have teaching experience, and at least a master’s degree in a relevant field.
