Federal Direct Loan Program for Domestic Students (studentaid.ed.gov)

Stafford Unsubsidized Loans

  • May borrow up to $20,500 per academic year.

  • Repayment of unsubsidized loans begins six months after you graduate, withdraw, or enroll below half-time (4 units).

  • Fixed Interest Rate: 6.21%

  • Loan Fee: 1.072% (After Oct, 1, 2014: 1.073%)

 

Graduate PLUS Loan

  •  May borrow up to the cost of attendance minus other financial aid received.

  •  Loan approval is based on a credit check.   

  •  Loan is deferred while you are enrolled at least half-time and for an additional six months after you cease to be enrolled at least half-time (4 units).

  • Fixed Interest Rate: 7.21%

  • Loan Fee: 4.288% (After Oct, 1, 2014: 4.292%)

 

Soka Loan Program for International Students

Soka Graduate Loan

  • May borrow up to the cost of attendance minus other financial aid received.
  • Repayment of Soka loans begins six months after you graduate, withdraw, or enroll below half-time (4 units).
  • Fixed Interest Rate: 6.0%
  • Must complete application, Master Promissory Note, and Self-Certification Form.

Disbursement of Funds

  • Fall and Spring financial aid is scheduled to be disbursed 2 weeks after the add/drop date.  All financial aid awards will be applied to university charges first (tuition, health insurance, room, etc.).
  • Refund checks are to be picked up from the Office of Student Accounts.

 

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

You must meet SAP to maintain eligibility for financial aid. 

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA for loans
  • 3.0 cumulative or semester GPA for scholarship & grants
  • Must complete program within 2 years
