How to Apply for Financial Aid
Each student must complete a financial aid application to be considered for need-based financial aid; which includes grants, scholarships and loans. Scholarships are based on academic achievement (such as the Merit Scholarship) and the student's admission application (such as Athletic Scholarship or the Global Scholarship).
When to Apply?
It is advised to begin the financial aid application process as soon as possible, beginning on January 1st of each year. The financial aid application process consists of four steps. You must chronologically complete all step to be considered for need-based financial aid. Students may begin to fill out applications for financial aid even before they have filed taxes. Students are encouraged to estimate their annual income on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or International Financial Aid Application even if their taxes have not been filed yet. During the verification period, students will have a chance to update this information with actual figures.
NEW STUDENTS should apply by the priority deadline of February 15th of each year so that an estimated financial aid package can be delivered by mid-March.
CONTINUING STUDENTS must submit their application no later than midnight on March 2nd of each year.
For 2016-2017 academic year, students can apply starting January 1, 2016.
Who Can Apply?
All students can apply for financial aid. We encourage all new students to apply for financial aid in their first year of study.
While applying for financial aid can be time consuming the first time you undertake the process, funding for institutional need-based scholarships has drastically increased in the last few years, allowing more and more students to be eligible for aid.
