NAIA Champions of Character

The vision of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Champions of Character program is to change the culture of sport. Its mission is to provide training to instill the values that build character so students, coaches and parents know, do, and value the right thing on and off the field. At Soka, our athletes are committed to finding balance by keeping the five core values - integrtiy, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership- at the heart of their athletic experience.

Our student athetes are Global citizens committed to living a contributive life…

Learning the importance of service to others…

Leaders of culture in the community…

Leaders of humanism in society…

Our student athletes live out these values treasured by the university beyond the classroom, field, pool, and track. In the midst of juggling school, sports, and extracurricular activities, they make the time to serve the community as one team and represent the Soka Athletic Department.  Through our Heart of a Lion: Team Community Outreach Program, our student athletes have various opportunities throughout the academic year to get involved and serve the community.  Check out some of the community outreach events and consider being a part of a team where the athletes value making a difference in the community!
