The fall 2009 Pacific Basin Research Center Distinguished Speaker is Robert L. Tignor, the Rosengarten Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Emeritus at Princeton University. A renowned Africanist and the author most recently of Arthur Lewis and the Birth of Development Economics (Princeton University Press, 2005), Professor Tignor's SUA talk is entitled African Underdevelopment: Historical Perspectives.
