Book talk and discussion session/Story telling: 2pm-3pm
SESRP members will present on Ethical Visions of Education: Philosophies in Practice by David T. Hansen, followed by a lecture on the book by SUA American History Professor James Spady PhD. After the lecture, there will be an open discussion session with Dr. Spady.
Panel Exhibition and video showing:10am-4:30pm
Exhibition panels on "Introduction to SUA and Soka Education" will be shown in the library from April 10th-30th in the showcase next to the bookstore. There will also be a 2 minute video which contains student voices from Soka University of America.
Storytelling: For participants who bring their children to library, we'll have a storytelling time for children. We'll use several books, including The Snow Country Prince by Daisaku Ikeda.
Soka Education Student Research Project (SESRP) at Soka University of America (SUA) is the host for this event. SESRP hopes to create a space where SUA students and community members can deepen their understanding of Soka education through mutual learning. Soka Education Student Research Project is a student-initiated organization at SUA. SESRP members study the history and philosophy of Soka Education, which is the basis of Soka University of America.
