A special musical tribute to baritone sax player extraordinaire, Pepper Adams. Known for his dark and hearty tone and driving rhythmic sense, Adams has had a strong influence on many notable baritone sax players. Adams collaboration with Donald Byrd from 1958 to 1961 with the Donald Byrd-Pepper Adams Quintet produced eleven outstanding albums and helped launch the career of renowned pianist Herbie Hancock.
Dale Fielder, an outstanding multi-instrumentalist and composer, continues his explorations of the Pepper Adams repertoire in this exciting tribute concert hosted by noted Pepper Adams biographer, Gary Carner.
