WALK A MILE FOR SOKA UNIVERSITY OF AMERICA!
OC SUPERVISOR WILSON TO DEDICATE MILLENNIUM TRAIL AND CAMPUS TO HOLD COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR

Aliso Viejo, Ca.- Celebrate National Millennium Trail Day and National Family Day on Saturday June 3, 2000 on the campus of Soka University of America, Aliso Viejo.

A community health fair featuring Hoag, Mission and South Coast Hospitals along with a fire engine, ambulance, K-9 and mounted police units and wildlife exhibits will be part of the festivities. Faculty and staff of SUA, AV will be stationed along the one mile Millennium Trail loop to answer questions about the 18 buildings under construction on the beautiful 103-acre hilltop campus overlooking the Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park.

Orange County Supervisor Tom Wilson will preside over the dedication ceremonies with help from local students in front of the 225,000 volume capacity Daisaku and Kaneko Ikeda Library starting at 8:30 a.m There will be a one mile bike tour at 7:30 a.m.; a fun run at 8 a.m. before the opening ceremonies; and family walks from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. All morning events are non-competitive and untimed, so participants will be able to walk, run or ride at their own leisurely pace and stop at each building along the way to learn more about the campus.

Registration is a $10 donation to the Soka University Scholarship Endowment Fund which includes an SUA lion t-shirt. Registration is optional for students 18 and under who do not wish to get a t-shirt. Free table space is available to all non-profit groups and organizations. Businesses interested in setting up their own table are asked to make a $100 donation to the Soka University Scholarship Endowment Fund.

SUA, AV is a four year non-profit liberal arts university opening in fall 2001 to its first 100 students. Applications are now being taken for Early Admission to the opening freshman class. For more information, see www.soka.edu.
