Schedule of Commencement Activities

2012 Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony

In addition, various other Commencement-related events are scheduled to take place from Wednesday, May 23 - Saturday, May 26. Please note that many of these events require tickets or invitations.

1)      Jazz Monsters Concert

Founders Hall 1st Fl. Art Gallery

Open to the public 
  • Free entry for all seniors and their six guests invited to Commencement
  • Free entry for staff, faculty, underclassmen and one guest each (Please have your SUA ID card for entry.)
  • Free entry for alumni 
  • All other guests:  $15 for adults, free for under 18
  • No reservation required and tickets sold at the door
  • Dining Hall open from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (Reservations for Soka Bistro may be emailed to marguello@soka.edu.)
  • Meals must be purchased on your own for family, guests and parents you may want to buy bulk meal tickets where possible
  • Picnics welcome (no glass or alcohol, please)

2)      Campus Tours

Campus tours will be provided for friends and families of the graduates who will be visiting the university on the day prior to Commencement.

3)      Appreciation Reception

This is a special night for seniors to thank their parents or guardians for all their support and to share what they've learned while at Soka!

  • This event is for seniors and their parents/guardians only (two tickets per senior). Tickets will be made available to seniors at the Exit Interview.

4)      Young Founders Alumni Annual Meeting

Members of the new alumni undergraduate Class of 2012 are invited to attend the SUA Undergraduate Alumni Luncheon and Annual Meeting.  This event is for Alumni only.  Alumni must RSVP to Ruby Nagashima at rnagashima@soka.edu
