Festival Video: Windows Media QuickTime
On Saturday, May 7, 2011, Soka University will celebrate the 10th Annual International Festival from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. Enjoy over 1000 musicians and dancers performing on three stages and over 200 non-profit, craft and business exhibitors! The 2011 International Festival will again be part of the Orange County's Imagination Celebration, presented in cooperation with Arts Orange County and the Orange County Department of Education. We are grateful to our Presenting Sponsor, The Orange County Register, which will print the 2011 Festival Program. There will be lots of international food, exhibitors, games and activities, an art exhibition, ceramic sales and demos, a children's play area with Superslide, Bounce House and Bungee Trampoline, student project presentations --- and much more!
Admission is FREE for everyone! Parking is $10 on campus and we ask that you carpool and have exact cash available for parking fees to speed up the lines -- we do not take credit cards. Directions to SUA Entertainment Schedule 2010 (2011 Schedule to come) Exhibitors List
Registration will open in January 2011 for volunteer performers for the May 7, 2011 Festival. Performers receive a complimentary festival t-shirt and one free parking pass for every four performers (please carpool). Contact Lisa Lu at lu@soka.edu or (949) 480-4083 if you have questions.
Registration is open for Exhibitors for May 7, 2011. Register early for best locations -- it's first registered, first choice of location. The deadline for registration for non-profit, business, craft and art exhibitors who wish to be in the program is April 1, 2011. We will continue taking registrations until April 20, 2011 if space is still available, but exhibitor registrations received after April 1 will not be listed in the program or major ads. Space allocation is first registered (both registration form and check received), first choice of space. We will not assign or hold space requests if checks have not been received.
- Non-profit agencies with 501(c)3 or 501(c)4 tax status may reserve a table space with a 6' table and 2 chairs for $35 to host an approved fundraising game, food or other sales or activity. Please attach a copy of your tax status letter to your application.
- Crafters and businesses may reserve a 6' table and 2 chairs for $125. Canopies ($35) and electrical access ($35) may also be reserved.
Confirmed exhibitors are listed on the exhibitors page, so you can always check your status. This IS YOUR CONFIRMATION! Here's a map of the festival layout and locations of stages, parking and shuttle stops. Contact Wendy Harder at (949) 480-4081 or info@soka.edu if you have questions.
Food may only be served by non-profit groups or SUA Student Clubs, although either group may partner with a restaurant or professional food server if they turn in a Partnership Agreement Form. Non-profits serving food are responsible for submitting county health permit waiver requests. All exhibitors are asked to provide their own tablecloths and extension cords if electrical is requested. No charcoal barbeques will be permitted due to safety issues. If you are serving hot or cold food, please specify your power source (electrical, propane, own generator, insulated coolers, etc.) so we know how to best place your space.
Volunteers are also needed to help keep the festival running smoothly. Volunteers working at least a two hour shift receive free parking and a festival t-shirt. You can volunteer by emailing your contact information and preferred shift time to info@soka.edu.
Sponsor and banner opportunities are available for the 2011 International Festival.
If you have not had the opportunity to visit our campus and you would like to do so before the festival, please note that we have regular tours at 10 am and 2 pm Monday-Friday and we’d be delighted to show you our campus.
Please feel free to contact me at info@soka.edu or (949) 480-4081 if I can answer any questions.
Sincerely,
Wendy Harder
