At my current job in global health, having the economics background allows me to understand the language of the ministry of finance and private sector.
Global Health Centre at the Graduate Institute Geneva (United Nations)
Having an academic background in economics was an advantage for me during and after my master’s degree. Even at my current job in global health, having the economics background allows me to understand the language of the ministry of finance and private sector, which could be sometimes too technical for others without any background in economics. I would strongly suggest to have discipline of economics at SUA if you want to pursue the field of development, as it is and will be a strength working in this field.
