Student Activities
Find your people. Then create something together.
Soka has more than 50 student organizations — cultural clubs, performing arts groups, athletic clubs, and advocacy organizations. The Soka Student Union gives every undergraduate a voice in how campus runs. Affinity groups foster community around shared identities. And through excursions organized by Student Activities, the whole region of Southern California becomes part of your education.
Whatever you’re drawn to, you can find or make a place for it here.

Student Perspectives
Your campus, your voice
The Soka Student Union (SSU) is the representative body for all undergraduate students. Every student is a member. Through the Executive Council, Class Senate, and Club Senate, SSU channels student voices into campus decision-making, funds organizations, and connects SUA students with Soka schools in Japan, Brazil, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
A community built on belonging
Engage in dialogue across different cultures, identities, and beliefs. Learn about Indigenous traditions at a “Thankstaking” meal with members of the Acjachemen Nation. Attend workshops on mitigating implicit bias and supporting LGBTQ+ youth. Curated for genuine connection and growth, this meaningful programming is what happens when students from 40 nations share a small campus and are committed to learning from each other.
Resources
On-campus support includes Counseling Services, Disability Services, and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. A range of off-campus community organizations serve Orange County’s diverse communities.
“Through the DEI office, I turned my loneliness and frustration into opportunities for dialogue, connection, and learning. I realized that I wanted to use the difficulties I face to create equality and harmony in my environment.” — Gracyn Ervin ’26
Make the most of Southern California
