Summer at Soka is here! We are pleased to welcome you to a series of outdoor events on the Campus Green. Bring picnics, blankets, and low-backed beach chairs along with your friends and family.
Guests may arrive beginning at 5PM to claim a space on the lawn/patio. Please note that we might have to move blankets and chairs as necessary if they interfere with the stage or performance set-up. Thank you for understanding.

Pacific Symphony’s Symphony on the Go! mobile stage provides the perfect venue for musicians to present chamber music programs throughout Orange County and in your neighborhood. Our musicians bring the music to you, from familiar classics to uplifting modern works. These family-friendly concerts are just right for classical music fans and those who may have never experienced a Symphony concert. The performance runs just under 60-minutes.
Few plays capture the dangers of ambition and power as vividly as Macbeth. It demonstrates what happens when grief hardens into ambition, when fear overtakes wisdom, and when those in power silence the voices that speak difficult truths. It is a story about consequence, and integrity. The show runs about 2 hours, with a 10-15 minute intermission in the middle.
Experience Buyepongo, a riotous fusion that seamlessly blends hip-hop, punk, funk, and jazz into a deliriously infectious tropical mix. From vibrant horn sections to unstoppable rhythms, their music is a worldwide celebration you can’t help but dance to.
When you attend this event, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur on behalf of Soka University of America. By entering the event premises, you consent to such recording media and its release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction in any medium or format whatsoever now existing or hereafter created.
Guests are welcome to come to campus and set up on the green beginning at 5 p.m.
Please note that we reserve the right to move blankets and chairs if they impact the staging and performance set up.
Enter campus at the main University Drive entrance off Wood Canyon Drive. General parking is available in Parking Lot A.
Accessible parking for the event is available at Lot C. There are 4 limited accessible spaces available across from the Ikeda Library. The remaining spots are reserved for accessible use, given their proximity to the campus green. Lot A has 18 designated accessible parking spots.
A Soka Shuttle will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. to run between Parking Lot A and the Ikeda Library where there is an elevator to the campus green. Please refer to the campus map for parking and walking directions.

Yes! We encourage you to arrive early and enjoy a picnic. The Soka Bistro will be open from 5:45 – 7 p.m. if you wish to purchase dinner for $15. A concessions stand will also be open for the purchase of snacks throughout the show.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on campus.
Smoking is not permitted in any campus building. Smoking is allowed on campus only in clearly identified areas. The campus is surrounded by a wilderness park, which presents a significant fire hazard. Smoking rules are strictly enforced.
We will not provide seating for the audience. Please bring your own seating—we recommend low back folding chairs and/or picnic blankets to not obstruct anyone’s view. Please no tents, canopies, or umbrellas.
No—this is an open seating event, and you should plan to bring your own chairs or blankets to enjoy the show.
There are limited tables and chairs available on the Bistro patio. These are available first-come, first-served basis and we ask that you defer from moving tables or occupying more than 2 tables for each party. Tables and chairs are wood and metal and heavy to move. Soka may reserve a small number of tables and chairs for dignitaries or event leadership.
Limited accessible space is reserved for patrons in wheelchairs or for those who may require a higher back chair. We ask that you not obstruct the view of patrons seated behind you and remain in the accessible space.
Regular bikes are welcome! Please lock them up at the bike racks. E-bikes, e-scooters, e-skateboards, and self-propelled skateboards are prohibited for visitors (students and staff excepted).
Other than service animals, pets are not allowed at Soka’s events, so please leave your furry friend at home! We welcome walking your pets on our Millennium Trail that loops around the campus perimeter, during normal campus hours on another day.
Yes, restrooms are available in the Soka Bistro and in Pauling Hall. Please refer to our campus map and event signage when on site.
The campus green can get chilly at night. We recommend you bring a blanket and/or layers to stay cozy during the performance.
There is a Capstone FCU ATM located on the 3rd floor of the Student Center above the Bistro.
