Excellence in Oncology Series: From Discovery to Care
Led by Simon Khagi, MD, FACP — Chief of Neuro-Oncology, Hoag Family Cancer Center
This in-depth, in-person journal club offers an excellent opportunity for a select group of Soka students to engage directly with Dr. Simon Khagi, a leading researcher and clinician in oncology. As Chief of Neuro-Oncology at Hoag Family Cancer Center, Dr. Khagi bridges biomedical research, clinical trials, and patient care. Participants will explore the full continuum from discovery to treatment, gaining insight into how research findings and clinical innovations shape patient outcomes, inform trial design, and influence the healthcare system. Each session will focus on one recent oncology paper, providing training in the journal club format and developing skills to critically analyze data, assess its implications, and connect research to practice.
