"What our world most requires now is the kind of education that fosters a love for humankind, that develops character—that provides an intellectual basis for the realization of peace and empowers learners to contribute to and improve society.” Daisaku Ikeda Founder, Soka University (www.soka.edu)

As our founder clarified on the SUA webpage, SUA was established to foster students who have “an intellectual basis for the realization of peace,” living a contributive life. SUA offers a liberal arts education, which provides students with opportunities to explore various academic fields and find connections among them. This education system strengthens students’ responsibility for their actions due to the interconnectedness and influences that they have on different academic fields. This symposium aims to enhance individuals’ capacity to perceive the interconnectedness among different phenomena and strengthen their responsibility for the whole society to achieve a better and peaceful world.
