Creative Arts Studios

The Soka Creative Arts Studios supplement our Creative Arts Program (CARTS), providing work spaces and equipment for students enrolled in CARTS courses.

Overview

As the CARTS program’s focus is on the “hands-on” creation of artworks, students who are enrolled in our courses have extended access to the studios to do their creative work outside of class meeting times. There are no lab or materials fees for use of these facilities for enrolled students.

All our visual arts students have the opportunity to display their works in the annual student show in the Founders Gallery. Students enrolled in Music Ensemble or CARTS music-related courses can also sign up to use university-owned instruments, including pianos, strings, winds, percussion and electronics, and have the opportunity to perform each semester in the Soka Performing Arts Center and Black Box Theatre.
