Beaches
Laguna Beach is the ideal spot for a beach day, less than a 20-minute drive from Soka with seven miles of coves and beaches to explore and enjoy. Laguna is also an artistic haven full of galleries and shops. Thirty minutes from SUA, Newport Beach boasts the largest recreational harbor on the west coast and has activities for outdoor enthusiasts as well as retail stores and attractions.

About the Area

Aliso Viejo
Aliso Viejo is a 6,600-acre planned community in Orange County, midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. It was incorporated in 2001 as Orange County’s 34th city and has a population of about 50,000 residents. More than half of the community is dedicated to parks, recreation, schools, open space, and community facilities. The mild coastal climate averages 67 degrees Fahrenheit with an average annual rainfall of 12.6 inches. Aliso Viejo is 10 miles south of John Wayne Airport (SNA), 50 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and is adjacent to the beautiful 4,000-acre Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, which surrounds 85% of the Soka campus.

Orange County
Incorporated in 1889, Orange County is located between the Los Angeles and San Diego counties in Southern California. As the second largest county in California with a population of more than 3.17 million, Orange County has the 16th-largest GNP in the world. We have sunny weather 80% of the year, 42 miles of coastline with sandy beaches, and stunning parks. The elevation spans from sea level to 5,687 feet (Santiago Peak).
