"KHAI FLOW / FLOW OF LIFE"
(Seeing With New Eyes)
A series of eighteen color pencil drawings

These works are the genesis of a new start in my visual perception, and a bridge towards renewed creative energy. They are not a culmination, or retrospection of past efforts, but the fruit of decades of experience. Experience that developed new vitality by the surgical removal of cataracts from my eyes. Colors became sharper and more intense. In fact, the act of seeing new brightness and focus in the world around me fills me with joy and wonder. These eighteen "Khai/Life" color drawings focus on the first days after the clouded membranes of my eye-lens were removed, and my retina adjusted to the images then filling my eyes. There were radiating rainbows of colors, auras and sparkles that changed with each eye movement and with each object focused upon. It was a somewhat frightening and yet hopeful experience. I was able to combine the crop circles from my previous works with the roundness and iridescences of my new eye lenses. As I kept drawing and my eyes continued to heal, the images evolved in richness and vibrancy. The flow of life gained strength and my future artworks, their content and direction unknown to me, evolved into a rushing stream of hope.
