Residence Hall Emergency Evacuation Procedures

Emergency Checklist

Notes on Emergencies

Avoid placing yourself in danger during evacuation; your safety is important.

Residents do not need to remain at the Assembly point once Roll Call has taken place; they may depart to other safe areas on campus.

In emergencies, Residential Life staff will take direction from the Public Safety.

Resident safety and well being is our utmost concern. Once any physical injuries have been attended to, be conscious and sensitive to the emotional state of students.

  3. Call Public Safety* at x 4117 to report the alarm and the source. (Public Safety will contact the fire authorities and Emergency Medical Transport services and Facilities Maintenance, as needed.)

  6. Residential Life staff will knock on each resident’s door to alert them. Knock and then continue. There is no need to wait for the resident to respond unless the situation deems it necessary.
