Join us to celebrate the opening of artist Arie Galles' exhibition, TRANSFORMATIONS a Retrospective. This exhibition spans seven decades of growth and transformations throughout Galles’ artistic career. The works explore a roadmap full of abrupt detours and returns to his previous iconography.
Galles’ works range from figurative to strictly formalistic imagery, but in the “Heartland” drawings and acrylic paintings he found the ideal synthesis of subject and technique. Works in these series are translated into “Reflected-Light Paintings” by their metamorphosis into non-physical light images, “Anti-Shadows.”
From 2004 through 2010 Galles served as director of Soka’s Creative Arts Program. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows throughout the US, Canada, and abroad.
