Arie A. Galles, professor emeritus and artist in residence at Soka University, has been an artist since childhood, beginning with his discovery of tailor’s chalk in his father’s home workshop. This exhibition explores a journey of artistic transformations, describing the arc of Galles’ iconography in his “Heartland” Reflected-Light paintings, “Fourteen Stations/Hey Yud Dalet” drawings, and other suites including “Sinister Drawings,” “PepperTree,” “Galicja” and “Orchard.”
