Living at SUA
Grounded in care, built for growth.
Soka’s residential campus offers more than a place to live. From globally inspired dining and free health and counseling services to a full recreation center and a 24/7 safety team, campus life is designed to help every part of you thrive.
Where you'll live
Soka’s 10 residence halls go well beyond the standard college dorm. Designed to foster community, these are spaces where the people down the hall become the people you’ll know for life.
First-year students live together in dedicated housing, building connections from day one. Upper-division students have access to suites and single rooms with more independence and flexibility. Graduate students have their own dedicated residential community.
Resident Assistants live in every hall, available to support students and build community year-round.
Food worth savoring
Soka partners with Bon Appétit to run a campus dining experience built around quality and global palates. For a student body that spans 40 nations, that means variety is at the core of the menu.
Support when you need it
Health services
Free on-campus medical care is available at the Health Center to all students, provided by a California-licensed medical practitioner from South Coast Medical Group.
Counseling services
Free, confidential counseling is available on campus. Students also have access to 24/7 digital support through Uwill. Whether you're navigating homesickness, academic stress, or something more serious, support is here.
Disability services
Soka works with students individually to provide reasonable accommodations — alternative testing arrangements, accessible housing, and other support tailored to each student's needs.
Everything else that makes it work
Designed to keep life running smoothly, amenities at SUA cover all the essentials so students can stay focused on learning and community. All are conveniently located on campus, a short walk away from residence halls.
Recreation Center
The campus recreation center — weight rooms, pool, gymnasium, courts, and more — is open to all current students, faculty, and staff.
Shuttle Service
A free shuttle runs a circular route every 30 minutes, stopping at three major plazas near campus. Students can request routes outside the standard loop within a 5-mile radius. Seasonal airport service to John Wayne Airport is also available on designated dates.
Mail Center
Located on the third floor of the student center, the Mail Center handles USPS services, plus receiving and shipping through FedEx and UPS. Resident students have a personal mailbox — senders should include the unit number in the address.
Bookstore
The campus bookstore, located on the third floor of the Student Center, carries course materials, school supplies, and SUA-branded gear and apparel.

A campus where you can feel at ease
Soka’s campus security team operates around the clock — certified officers provide campus escorts, maintain surveillance, and coordinate emergency response. The SUA Alerts system and the Diamond System allow for immediate campus-wide communication in an emergency.
