Hat Tuong

Hat Tuong
Hat Tuong is a once-popular but now endangered performing art in South Vietnam. Tuong performances are highly stylized with great symbolization, partly illustrated by the patterns of masks or face-drawing. Interestingly, the patterns must reflect the individuality of the characters that actors portray. This art piece hopefully introduces Hat Tuong to a wider populace and contributes to the preservation of traditional art forms that face the threats of irreversible extinction in the changing times.
